ABOUT THE CHOIR
The Boiler House Singers have been going for twelve years, under the direction of Tara Creme, a composer and conductor who arranges much of the music for the choir. It’s a non-auditioning choir and anybody is welcome to join.
We sing a wide variety of music - country, folk, pop, classical, some well-known favourites among many more unusual songs. Full list on repertoire page.
We perform a few concerts a year, always hugely enjoyable occasions, featuring musician friends and audience singalongs. For the last few years we have performed regularly at Stoke Newington’s beautiful Old Church and lead the annual by now legendary Festival Singing at Dalston Eastern Curve Garden.
As well as our regular Christmas and Summer concerts in local venues, we have taken part in a number of other events over the years, for example; Abney Park chapel; Sing Up festival at the South Bank; York Rise Street Festival; performing new music as a choir in the Tower Theatre's King Charles III production. We have just recorded backing singing for a song on Number’s new album.
